Being On the Verge of the Middle of the Season Means That the Calder Trophy Talk is About to Take Flight. Some Rookies Have Already Set Themselves Ahead of the Race and Are Making Strong Cases for the Trophy Moving Forward.

The NHL season is flying by and many teams have been having successful seasons thus far. This season’s rookie presence is strong and the Calder Trophy conversation this season will be a tough one.

The Calder Trophy is awarded to the player who is most proficient in his first year in the NHL. Thing is, there are a few rookies who are making excellent cases for why they should be the 2016-17 Calder recipient.

A few rookies are already making their names important ones to mention with the Calder conversations take place soon. Regardless, these five rookies are making big reputations for themselves in that NHL.
