NHL Daily: Morning Discussion

Last night there was another goalie blocker punch situation, the first since Carey Price‘s not too long ago. The Hurricanes were getting crushed by the Penguins (a later 7-1 win) and goaltender Ward simply let his frustrations get the best of him by blocker punching Hornqvist.

This is the second situation of this kind to happen so far this season. While some might see this act as a goalie protecting themselves, it is also a dangerous move that the NHL’s rules (supposedly) prohibit.

What do you think about the punch? Do you think Ward should get off the hook, similar to Price, or do you think the goalie should have some kind of consequence?
