There were eight games on the NHL’s Monday night schedule. First, the Tampa Bay Lightning topped the New York Rangers 3-2, the Blue Jackets beat out the Flyers 5-3 and the Hurricanes smashed the Islanders 8-4.

The Nashville Predators beat the Winnipeg Jets 5-4 in OT, the Flames topped the Penguins 4-3 in a shootout and the Blues beat the Kings 3-1. Lastly, the Coyotes shut out the Avalanche 1-0 and the Bruins beat the Canucks 6-3.

Senators Topping Playoff Contention and Analyzing Possible Matchups

The Senators are topping playoff contention as the end of the season nears. With the playoffs quickly approaching, the Sens will either finish first or last in the Atlantic Division and will face the challenge of taking on the Rangers, Bruins, or Maple Leafs. The St.Louis Blues need to hold down their playoff spot and the pressure of the end of the season won’t make it easy for them.
