The Nashville Predators and the Anaheim Ducks completed their series Monday night when the Predators won the game by a score of 6-3. This puts the Preds in the Stanley Cup Finals for the first time in franchise history.

NHL Daily: Morning NHL Headlines

Sabres Ready to Have a New Player Next Week
After a very strong showcase at the 2017 IIHF World Championships, Viktor Antipin has turned into a very sought after prospect. The Penguins were initially interested in his services but he ultimately declined. Now he has a scheduled meeting in New York next week and it’s expected that he will be signing with the Sabres. Florida Looking at a New Starter
After a very lackluster season by Roberto Luongo, it won’t be surprising if the Florida Panthers make a change for next season. But they won’t do so by trade or free agency, they’ll be doing it within. James Reimer could very well start for the club on a regular basis next season. (The Rat Trick)

Leafs Prospect Wins IIHF MVP
After a very successful World Championships, team Sweden defeated the Canadians in a shootout to win the gold medal. What’s great is Leafs forwards Mitch Marner (team Canada) had a tremendous tournament winning a Silver medal. But forward William Nylander won himself a Gold medal and MVP honors of the entire tournament. (Editor In Leaf)

Avalanche Don’t Need to Look Far for Help
It’s no surprise the Avalanche need help in goaltending, but while they wait and make a few quick fixes they have someone developing into a top tier goalie. The goalie of choice is Adam Werner, he’s had a terrific season in Sweden for the IF Bjorkloven of the Allsvenskan league in Sweden. With one more year there and a couple in the AHL, he’ll be ready to take over the net in Colorado. (Mile High Sticking)

Predators Advance to Stanley Cup Final
For the first time in franchise history, Nashville has made the Stanley Cup Finals. After some very tough series,’ this team looks ready and poised to take on either Ottawa or Pittsburgh. Either way, win or lose, they have made history. (Fansided)

Four Hurricanes Win Gold
So many NHL players who didn’t make the playoffs or were eliminated early get to participate in a late season tournament in hopes to make something of their disappointing year. And the Hurricanes players did just that, four of them represented Team Sweden at this past World Championships. The players include Elias Lindholm, Victor Rask, Joakim Nordstrom, and Eddie Lack, oh yes they all won Gold medals. (Cardiac Cane)
