Three Big Names The Chicago Blackhawks Should Trade This Offseason
By Jim Lynch
The First Player: Alex DeBrincat
Alex DeBrincat is most definitely a fan favorite. He is someone that keeps people going to Hawks games despite the struggles. Patrick Kane loves to play with him and the Hawks fans love to watch him.
If DeBrincat plays his entire career in Chicago then there is little doubt he could go down in franchise history as the best goal scorer the team has ever seen. He already has 160 goals despite being just 24.
Yet for the Hawks to go all-in on this rebuild they need prospects and draft picks. There is no single player on this roster who could net them a better return than DeBrincat. Trading DeBrincat would have to be involved in a sign-and-trade type of move like what we saw with Seth Jones last offseason.
While I do not want to see DeBrincat go, I do think it would be a better move for the future of the team. Brendan Hagel got two first-round picks and a couple of NHL players, just imagine what DeBrincat could get for the team, even if he is on the last year of his deal.
