FanSided NHL Recap September 6th

Time to gear up for the regular season loyal readers.  Training camps are about to begin, and with today being Labor Day, we all know that signifies that the long summer is almost over!  No more drama about Kovy!  Howwever there’s still drama about pending free agents, and where teams will be expected to finish, but at least it seems like we can start to get down to business.

Here are some of FanSided best posts from our NHL network from last week.  Enjoy!

Thrasher Backer has some bold predictions and is certainly excited for the new season to begin.  Can’t help but think that Atlanta just might be a little better than last year.

Sabre Noise takes a look back at some of the captains who have led the Buffalo Sabres.  Video included.

Jaroslav Halak held a charity event in Montreal Saturday to show his appreciation for the time he spent with the Canadiens.  A Winning Habit describes the day.

Blue Line Station takes a look at the tension on the ice of the NHL.  Certainly has been a lot of drama this summer.

Veteran forward Bill Guerin is getting a tryout with the Philadelphia Flyers.  Broad Street Buzz doesn’t want any part of this.

Newlywed Mike Comrie has signed with the Pittsburgh Penguins.  Pens Labyrinth talks about the risk-free signing, and the fact that Hilary Duff could be hanging around the Consol Center.

Editor In Leaf has a list of 10 players that have something to prove in Toronto this year.

Mike Wise a reporter in Washington D.C. got himself in trouble for tweeting a rumor.  Captials Outsider decided to have some fun with that.

Defence may or may not be a problem this year for the Dallas Stars.  Blackout Dallas takes a look at the blueline lineup and ranks them.

Even though Edmonton is pretty far away from mainstream media, it’s not without it’s own drama.  Thanks to goaltender Nikolai KhabibulinOil On Whyte talks about the recent court room drama.

As we keep saying, training camp is almost here.  Finally filling our last open site on the Network, Gone Puck Wild is counting down the days.

Does a high profile free agent always make a difference?  Or do you just need someone with good work ethic and leadership?  Predlines give their opinion.

After a long wait, forward Lee Stempniak is back with the Phoenix Coyotes.  Howlin Hocky reports on the forward who maybe has found a home.

Big news in San Jose as Doug Wilson inks former Chicago Blackhawks goaltender Antti Niemi, giving the Sharks a potentially sold goaltending tandem.  Blades of Teal breaks it down.

The St. Louis Blues missed the playoffs last season, after making it the previous year.  Bleedin’ Blue has a list of items that will determine whether or not they make it back this year.

That wraps up the best of FanSided for last week.  As we get closer to camp watch for our team previews, some fantasy news as well as predictions.

One last item.  We have finally filled our last site.  Nikki Donovan has come on board to be the lead writer for the Minnesota Wild site, Gone Puck Wild.  Welcome Nikki, and our goal as a network has been accomplished, which was to have all 30 teams represented before the season started!

Thanks to all the writers that are part of this newtork.  We wouldn’t be were we are today without you.  Keep up the good work.

Thank you readers for coming here every day as well.  Now, let’s get ready for more of this:
