Central Division Schedules

Chicago is coming off of their second Stanley Cup victory in the last four season, and they’re lucky to be thrown into what I would say is the weakest of the four divisions. Chicago will be back this season with a few new pieces to the puzzle, but they I wouldn’t be surprised at all to see them hoist the cup again. To check out the Blackhawks schedule check out our Blackhawk Up blog. They’ll keep you up to date on any news that the Blackhawks whip up.

Colorado is in rebuild mode now. They used the first pick on Nathan MacKinnon, hired Patrick Roy as their head coach, and made a move for Alex Tanguay. It may be a few more seasons before the Avalanche are really contenders again, but Joe Sakic is bringing the dream team from the early 2000’s back in an effort to bring the cup back to Colorado. Check out the Aves schedule on our Mile High Sticking blog and be sure to check back for any news related to the Aves.

Dallas brought in Lindy Ruff as head coach, and Jim Nill as GM in the offseason and the moves followed very quickly, as they look get the Stars back to the playoffs. The Stars traded for Tyler Seguin, Sergei Gonchar and Shawn Horcoff. The Stars look like they may be a force to be reckoned with in the Western Conference this season. They could be a very interesting team to watch now that they’ve reloaded this offseason. Check out the new Stars schedule on our Black Out Dallas blog for all news Stars.

Minnesota made the playoffs last year only to go down early to the Chicago Blackhawks in the first round of the playoffs. Minnesota loaded up with a few huge contracts last season but it looks a bit differently this offseason. Niklas Backstrom will be back for another three seasons, and the Wild will be without Cal Clutterbuck and Devin Setoguchi after trading them both away this offseason. Wild fans can check out Gone Puck Wild for the schedule this season and any other news that the Wild may release.

Nashville missed the playoffs last season after watching Ryan Suter walk to a huge payday in Minnesota. The Predators have reloaded in the offseason with numerous signings. As long as the Predators have Shea Weber and Pekka Rinne, I wouldn’t be too worries about them, and I really like the way their roster is starting to look. This will be a good team to keep an eye on next season, to do so check out Predlines for the schedule and other news for the Predators.

St. Louis was sent home a lot earlier than they would have originally liked this year. They were beat in the first round by the defending Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings. The Blues have been trying to move Jaroslav Halak and were even talking about a trade involving Ryan Miller with the Buffalo Sabres. Could you see Ryan Miller in  a Blues jersey? Go check out Bleedin’ Blue to get the latest updates about the Blues, including the new schedule.

Winnipeg barely missed out on the fun of playoff hockey this season after they hit a skid at the wrong time. The Jets went cold, and the Capitals went on a tear and knocked them right out of the top spot in the division and right out of the top eight spots in the Eastern Conference. The Jets picked up Devin Setoguchi to try and aide the offense, but how much of a difference can he still make? Take a look at Hockey At The Forks for the Jets schedule and any news that comes in this offseason in Winnipeg.
