Everyone knows what it’s like to get caught up in the moment, but when it comes hoisting Lord Stanley’s Cup, very few can say they know the feeling.

So it’s understandable that in the heat of the moment, sometimes there are some slip-ups. Here are five of the best f-bombs caught on live TV after winning the cup.

#5: The year is 2008 and the Detroit Red Wings had just defeated the Pittsburgh Penguins to capture their 11th cup. Leave it to since forgotten Brett Lebda for our first f-bomb on a local Detroit station’s live feed from the locker room. He drops it about 35 secs in when the cup is passed to him mid-interview. I can’t blame the guy here. What happens in the locker room stays in the locker room. What would you expect the guy to say? “Oo, it’s heavy?” Nice work Brett.

#4: Mark Recchi was the man for the Boston Bruins in the 2011 Stanley Cup final against the Vancouver Canucks. Scoring 3 goals and the most points of any player, he deserved to win more than anyone. So its understandable that winning his 3rd and final cup, knowing he promised to “ride off into the sunset” if he won, was in need of a proper send off. Right? Right.

#3 Petr Sykora had a stretch of bad luck when it came to winning the cup. Though he’s been on two cup winning teams, when he won it in 2000 with the New Jersey Devils, he wasn’t able to hold it over his head because he was sent to the hospital earlier in the game against the Dallas Stars. In 2009, with the Penguins – he hurt his ankle in Game 6 and couldn’t play Game 7 when Pittsburgh beat Detroit. So what did Sykora do? He forced the skate on his foot to finally lift the chalice above his head, all while adding a little extra.

2#: Dustin Brown became the 2nd American born captain to win a cup. I’m going to go out on a limb and say he’s also the only one to drop F-bombs on multiple occasions in an epic Stanley Cup run, so he’s got experience in front of the camera. That makes him a titan of the trade.

#1: Bloodied, having taken a puck in the face and it being his second broadcasted f-bomb of the finals, unsung Chicago Blackhawk hero Andrew Shaw takes the cake. He first let one drop after scoring Game 1’s winner against the Bruins in the wee hours of the morning. Then after taking a puck to the face in Game 6, blood dripping down his cheek, he hoists the cup and lets its fly. Shaw’s bid includes his Game 1 slip-up, team mate Dave Bolland’s after Game 7 and Corey Crawford‘s during their cup speech in Chicago. Just like the sport of hockey, it’s a team effort.

What were some of your favorite slip-ups? I remember one back in 2006 when the Carolina Hurricanes won, but couldn’t remember the players name. Tweet me @ArbuckleTV or @tmmots with your picks.
