While the Stanley Cup Playoffs are still very much ongoing, the dust has settled in the Canadian Hockey League playoffs, and we now know who will be playing for the Memorial Cup, starting on May 16 in London, Ont.
Last year’s Memorial Cup tournament was notable because it featured a pair of head-to-head prospect battles featuring three of the top four draft picks last June, with top draft prospects Nathan MacKinnon and Jonathan Drouin on the Halifax Mooseheads going against the Portland Winterhawks, led by Seth Jones.
The Mooseheads defeated the Winterhawks in the final to win it all, with MacKinnon being named the tournament’s most valuable player en route to being the first overall pick in the draft.
While none of this year’s consensus top prospects are in the tournament, there are still plenty of reasons to tune in, so please join us as we take a look at all four teams in the tournament.
