Most hockey fans love a good rumors, but sometimes there is more to think about than the team in question. With the Draft coming up I’m sure there will be some NHL Draft rumors out there. Rumors aside there are a few players that need to be moved for their sake as much at it would be for their teams sake.
At some point in a player’s career there come a time when a new team is needed to stretch a career a few extra years. Often times the player that this happens too are the ones fans have learned to love or have become as much apart of a teams culture as the colors they wear.
This offseason I can’t help but think that we will see a few players uprooted and sent packing in an effort to rebuild a team and give the player one last chance at glory.
NHL teams are looking to capture a Stanley Cup and heavy contracts and aging players are hurting some of their efforts. On the flip side the younger teams are all looking to add valuable leadership to their young locker-room.
In some cases we are talking about players with a NTC or a LNMC, and it’s a choice that the player needs to understand. At some point it become the player holding their teams hostage.
