NHL Power Rankings (Heading Into Week 17) – Full 30-Team Analysis with Weekly Prospect Profiles, Injury Reports, Statistical Updates (Leaders, Special Teams, etc.), and More.

Welcome back to our weekly NHL power rankings here at Puck Prose. This is a collaboration between Matt Duscharme, Trin Potratz, and Ryan Ritchie brought to you every Thursday in which we update fans on the latest happenings around the league. In addition to our top 30 rankings, we provide in-depth analysis and feature a weekly prospect profile to help fans get better acquainted with young talent in the system.

We had a bit of a layoff this past weekend as NHL All-Star’s gathered in Los Angeles. The league also released its top 100 list with those past legends making an appearance at All-Star Weekend for a 48-player ceremonial puck drop. If there’s one common theme we kept hearing following the festivities, it was the interaction that current players were enjoying with former legends.

Given the light schedule, only four teams played three games, 22 played two contests, and four others played a single match-up. The Los Angeles Kings led the way with a perfect 3-0-0 record. Calgary, NY Islanders, Winnipeg, and Dallas all reeled off a 2-0-0 record. Among the teams that struggled: Buffalo, St. Louis, Colorado, Chicago, and Toronto all went 0-2-0 over the past seven days.

*all stats in our week 17 NHL power rankings are heading into Thursday (Feb.2) night’s action.
