Montreal Canadiens podcast: Carey Price return sparking greatness
Check out the latest episode of Habs Fan vs. Leafs fan, as Steve “Dangle” Glynn joins to talk about the Toronto Maple Leafs. Also, has the return of Carey Price saved the Montreal Canadiens season?
The latest episode of Habs Fan vs. Leafs fan is out. As always, the show has excellent banter about the Toronto Maple Leafs and Montreal Canadiens. In the latest episode, Kris Russell, Carey Price’s return, why we should feel bad for the Sedin twins, and more are discussed.
Special guest Steve “Dangle” Glynn, arguably the most famous (and loudest) Maple Leafs fan joins the guys. You can listen to the latest episode here.
Opening
This week’s opening features some mocking of Edmonton Oilers defenseman Kris Russell. During Thursday night’s battle against the Maple Leafs, the defenseman scored one of the most embarrassing own goals in recent memory.
On one hand, you’ve got to feel bad for him. Just one of those days when Lady Luck has a personal vendetta against you and finds pleasure in your misfortunes. But on the other hand, the Maple Leafs have endured far worse. Try 50 straight years of that.

Last time this podcast came out, the Canadiens were looking fairly hopeless. However, Carey Price returning from injury seems to have energized them. Before his return against the Buffalo Sabres, the Habs had lost five straight games. Since Price returned from injury, the Canadiens have won five straight.
Kamal Rehman rants about how Montreal doesn’t protect their goaltender efficiently. Players go after the goaltender and his teammates don’t stick up for him nearly as often as they should. The Canadiens must realize Price is worth defending. He’s quite capable of kicking butt himself, but his hands should be used for saving shots, not punching people.
Dangle Interview
A majority of Maple Leafs fans are extremely passionate and love their team almost more than life itself. Most of them are, like many Canadians, extremely respectful and polite. Social media celebrity Steve “Dangle” Glynn is a healthy combination of the two. Even when he makes a Youtube video ranting about how his team won or lost against yours, you can’t help but love him.
Dangle gets his inspiration for his infamous LFR game recaps from a variety of sources. The Maple Leafs drive him (and many fans) nuts and he loves them a lot. Steve’s parents and a dysfunctional VCR also played a huge part in it.
Despite being a Maple Leafs fan, Dangle feels sympathetic towards the Montreal Canadiens. He feels they’re a very likable fan base and are surprisingly devoted supporters of him. Dangle has a pretty hot take about Price – the Habs shouldn’t consider trading him. However, he might be too entrenched in the team to be traded.

The Maple Leafs success is still a little weird for Dangle. Four years ago, it was impossible to imagine Toronto with Lou Lamoriello, Brendan Shanahan, and Mike Babcock. But that’s reality in 2017.
