According to the latest Canucks rumors, Daniel Sedin and Henrik Sedin are leaning towards re-signing with the Vancouver Canucks for another season
The Vancouver Canucks are in a state of rebuilding. Their decline since their appearance in the 2011 Stanley Cup Finals has been gradual and painful to watch. Especially because the Canucks have two legends – Daniel Sedin and Henrik Sedin. Despite the direction of the franchise, the twins have remained committed to Vancouver. And according to the latest Canucks rumors, they’re looking to re-sign for next season. Both are free agents after this season.
Here’s what Sportsnet’s Chris Johnston had to say. The discussion starts at around the 10-second mark.
"“It sounds like both Daniel Sedin and Henrik Sedin want to be back for one more season, at this point.”"

The Sedins have had opportunities to be traded. But they’ve willingly chosen to stay with the Canucks. Some players are motivated by the pursuit of the Stanley Cup. Others don’t feel like they have to win one to be happy. The Sedins have always seemed content in Vancouver and are an important part of the community.
And keep in mind, Vancouver is the only city Henrik and Daniel have lived in during their careers. It’s rare to see two players stick with a team for so long, but the Sedins have proven to be an exception.
Fans might want to see both get traded, hopefully to a contender. The Sedins deserve to win a Stanley Cup. However, at the same time, the twins bargained to get no-movement clauses. Though they’ve surely been given the opportunity to waive it, they choose to remain in Vancouver. In today’s NHL, that’s pretty darn cool.

The Canucks are going through a rebuild. Having the Sedins around for at least part of it should make the transition to a younger core much easier. There are very few better players to learn from than Henrik and Daniel, who have defined the Canucks for over a decade.
