The NHL All-Star break is officially over and done with. Now, it’s back to business for the Anaheim Ducks as they chase their sixth consecutive playoff appearance.
On Tuesday night, January 30th, the Anaheim Ducks took the ice on the road against the Boston Bruins. In their first of five road games, Anaheim came out on top, ending the Bruins’ 18 game point streak with a 3-1 victory. The Ducks got goals from forwards Jakob Silfverberg (one goal) and Adam Henrique (two goals).
Anaheim defended their net in a solid fashion thanks to goalies John Gibson and Ryan Miller. The former stopped all of the 25 shots he faced while the latter replaced him and stopped five of six. With the win in the books, the Ducks’ record improves to 25-17-9, with 59 points in 51 games.

Anaheim took control of the game quickly in the first period. Their first goal came from a lucky bounce off the leg of Bruins defenseman Zdeno Chara. With Silfverberg in the crease of the net, he was credited with the tally.
Henrique netted the second score of the period with a slapshot past goalie Anton Khudobin for a power-play goal. Adam then sealed the deal with the game-winning goal in the third period. Within the final seconds of the game, he placed the puck in the back of the net with a full-length empty net money shot.
The win in Boston gave the Ducks their third win in a row, tying their season win streak record. Anaheim heads north of the border next to take on the Ottawa Senators, Montreal Canadiens, and Toronto Maple Leafs. After the Leafs, the Ducks head back to the states to close out the road trip in Buffalo to face the Sabres.

As mentioned earlier, the Ducks currently have 59 points on the season making them tied for second place in the Pacific Division, along with, the Kings and the Sharks. However, at the moment, they are outside of the playoff race tied for the final wild-card spot with the Minnesota Wild. This road trip is crucial as they need all of the points they can get to lock up a top-three spot in the division.
We shall see how the rest of this thing goes. The Ducks take on the Senators later on Thursday, Feb. 1 at 7 p.m. ET (4 p.m. PT).
