Here’s a full schedule for the first-round series of the Stanley Cup Playoffs 2018 featuring the Boston Bruins and Toronto Maple Leafs

Back in 2013, the Toronto Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins played in the first-round of the postseason. It was a series that changed both teams. Five years later, the two teams are set to do battle again, this time during the Stanley Cup Playoffs 2018.

The two teams couldn’t be more different right now than they were back in 2013. From Boston, Tuukka Rask, Patrice Bergeron, Zdeno Chara, David Krejci, and Brad Marchand are the only prominent players left. Meanwhile, James van Riemsdyk, Nazem Kadri, Leo Komarov, Tyler Bozak, and Jake Gardiner are the lone Leafs left.

Let’s take a look at their first-round schedule. As a reminder, Games 1, 2, 5, and 7 will be held in Boston. Meanwhile, Toronto will host Games 3, 4, and 6.

Schedule

  • Game 1: Thursday, April 12, 7pm: NBCSN, CBC, TVA Sports
  • Game 2: Saturday, April 14, 8pm: NBC, CBC, TVA Sports
  • Game 3: Monday, April 16, 7pm: CBC, TVA Sports, NBCSN
  • Game 4: Thursday, April 19, 7pm: CBC, TVA Sports, NBCSN
  • Game 5*: Saturday, April 21, TBD: TBD
  • Game 6*: Monday, April 23, TBD: TBD
  • Game 7*: Wednesday, April 25, TBD: TBD

Analysis

This is not an ideal first-round series for Boston. They went 1-2-1 against the Leafs during the regular season, losing the season series. Boston got outscored by Toronto 11-6 in their three losses. They did, however, muster a 4-1 win over the Leafs on Feb. 3.

Toronto, however, doesn’t have home-ice advantage. They didn’t even win half of their road games, going 20-16-5 away from home during the regular season. At the Air Canada Centre, the Leafs went 29-10-2. Not having that extra home game might wind up costing them the series. Boston, by the way, went 28-8-5 at The Garden during the regular season.

So this should be a great series. It’s hard to see it taking less than six games.
