The Washington Capitals and Columbus Blue Jackets start their NHL Playoffs 2018 series on Thursday, April 12 at 7:30 p.m. ET. Here’s how you can watch online.
One of the most intriguing first-round series of the NHL Playoffs 2018 starts on Thursday, April 12. The Washington Capitals will host the Columbus Blue Jackets at Capital One Arena in Washington, DC. This game will be shown on USA Network and is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m. ET.
During the regular season, the Caps won the season series. They got the best of the Jackets three of four times. However, in their most recent meeting, Columbus blew out Washington 5-1. This meeting was in late February before both teams started playing significantly better.

Few teams did better in March than the Caps and Jackets. Thanks to their respective playoff pushes, they’re going to meet in the first-round. And this should be a very even series.
Washington comes in as the Metropolitan Division champions. This is the third consecutive division title for the Caps. However, they haven’t had much postseason success. In each of their past three postseasons, they’ve been eliminated in the second round. The past two years, the eventual Stanley Cup champion Pittsburgh Penguins took them out on both occasions.
Meanwhile, Columbus has been scorching hot. They are led by Artemi Panarin, Cam Atkinson, Seth Jones, and reigning Vezina Trophy winner Sergei Bobrovsky. The Jackets outshot the Caps in each of their four meetings this season. They’ve been on a roll lately, especially on offense. But will it be enough to get them their first postseason series victory in franchise history?

Though the game is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m. ET, it will probably be delayed thanks to pre-game ceremonies. It’s interesting this is on USA Network rather than NBCSN. Expect the Caps to come out on top this one thanks to their home-ice advantage.
