Some thought the Pittsburgh Penguins would cruise through the Philadelphia Flyers, but Game 6 can change everything as the series comes to an exciting conclusion

The Pittsburgh Penguins are looking to repeat their success again, but the Philadelphia Flyers are not going away easy. What has become one of the best rivalries in the NHL, and all of professional sports, the Flyers look to even the series at 3-3 to force  Game 7.

Sean Couturier‘s offensive surge has carried over to the playoffs, but Sidney Crosby‘s 10 points thus far solidifies his continued dominance. The Penguins seem to have the firepower advantage on paper, but the Flyers have bounced back after terrible performances in Games 3 and 4.

Jake Guentzel continues his emergence as a top line player in the NHL, and his chemistry with Crosby is unquestioned. They have combined for 18 points in 5 games and share a combined plus-11 rating. If they can continue their success today in Philadelphia, it will be a tough feat to overthrow the defending Stanley Cup champions. There is a chance Evgeni Malkin can’t go today, which means Derick Brassard will have to step up on the second line.

When the Flyers are bad, they are bad. They’ve lost in drastic fashion in all three games, but have shown resilience in the other two. They will need to use to the crowd on home ice to keep up with the fast-paced offense of the Penguins.

The Flyers need to score goals on offense, but consistency has been a major concern. Claude Giroux has just a goal and an assist in five games along with a minus-7 rating. If the Flyers have any chance of winning, it will be on their captain to step up today.
