The Montreal Canadiens tried to troll Brad Marchand on Twitter, but he gave them quite the licking

The Boston Bruins have been eliminated from the Stanley Cup Playoffs. This makes a lot of people happy because outside of people who are Bruins fans, nobody really likes them. A huge reason for this is forward Brad Marchand. His most recent antics? Licking opponents, which the NHL had to tell him to stop doing. The Montreal Canadiens attempted to troll Marchand after the Bruins got eliminated.

But because number 63 is as pesty on Twitter as he is on the ice, he gave the Habs quite the licking.

Lesson learned – if you’re going to try to troll Marchand on Twitter, it would be wise to consider holding your tongue. This isn’t the first time the Bruins forward has trolled someone on social media. Let’s take a quick look at some of Marchand’s best replies.

It’s rare to see someone as annoying and hilarious off the ice as he is on it. But Marchand is one of them. Whether you love or hate him, he’s one of the most polarizing and most notable players in the NHL.

Marchand took his licks against the Lightning for sure. During the series, he had eight points in five games. So it’s not Marchand’s fault the Bruins lost. You should probably look at Boston’s other forwards, who, by the way, did not score a single five-on-five goal after Game 2 against the Lightning.

The Canadiens and Bruins have one of the best rivalries in the NHL. It just got even better. Hopefully, this leads to more players (and team accounts) being sassy to each other online. In 68 games this season, Marchand tied his career-high with 85 points while picking up his third consecutive season with at least 30 goals. He added 17 points in 12 games during the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
