During the regular season, Tampa Bay won two of their three games against Washington. However, as fans saw in the first round with the New Jersey Devils and Lightning, regular season records aren’t overly important in the playoffs.

Both teams are playing very well. Tampa Bay has gone through New Jersey and the Boston Bruins with relative ease. They only needed five games to eliminate each of them. Meanwhile, Washington needed six games to eliminate both the Columbus Blue Jackets in the first round and the Pittsburgh Penguins in the second round.
