Evaluating each Arizona Coyotes’ players’ 2017-18 season by a song.

The 2017-18 season for the Arizona Coyotes was a season of ups and downs. The level of consistency and performance among players were very sporadic. They got off to a historically bad start but finished relatively strong.

Many media bases sugar coat each player’s season with glam and glitz, but for this review, we will use a song to summarize the player’s individual performance.

Josh Archibald: Time’s A-Wastin (Johnny Cash)

Josh Archibald flew under the radar this 2017-18 season only appearing in 42 games. The 25-year-old winger has not yet found a way to prove he is a valuable asset to the Coyotes’ franchise. For his whole career, he has only played in 53 games, scoring 8 goals, tallying 6 assists and 29 penalty minutes.

His numbers are less than staggering and enforce that he has yet to be a huge factor. By no means in Archibald not good, it is just that he has shown that he can not really translate well to the NHL from the AHL level.

Time’s A-Wastin’ by Johnny Cash is the perfect song for Archibald who finds himself on thin ice. Much like the title of the song implies, time is almost up for Archibald with the Coyotes. With the Tuscon Roadrunners having an extreme amount of NHL ready talent on their roster, Coyotes players must prove they are deserving of a roster spot.

Archibald is entering his prime and he has yet to find his niche in the NHL. He is not a goal scorer, enforcer or grinder, he is just merely a body on the ice. Archibald must change his ways and find a way to provide for the Coyotes quick or his time in Arizona will be done before he know it.
