Vegas Golden Knights: Home success is paying dividends
For the last two seasons, the Vegas Golden Knights have one of the best home records in the league. How will this help them in the playoffs?
The Vegas Golden Knights have changed the game experience for fans. They have on-ice theatrical performances and have turned the game into a show. Not only has the home ice been a great experience for the fans, but the players have been experiencing tremendous success at home as well.
Last season, the Golden Knights had a 29-10-2 record at home, tied for the second-best record in the league. They had a lot of help in their first season from a schedule standpoint, having a seven-game homestand at the beginning of the schedule to help the fans acclimatize to their new team.

After winning eight of their first nine games, the city was hooked onto the team and they never looked back. The home success came in handy during the playoffs when they went to the Stanley Cup Final.
In the 10 games played at home, they won seven of them. A strong home record is important for every team and the Golden Knights have one of the best in the league.
The team overall is tied for 8th in the league in goals per game and they always seem to turn it up offensively when they are at home. In 10 of the Golden Knights’ home wins, they scored 4+ goals and with Marc-Andre Fleury between the pipes, that’s a recipe for success.
The Golden Knights’ team is built differently than everyone else’s. They have four solid lines, rather than one or two superstar lines. This allows their third and fourth line to be the difference makers and is the nightmare of every opposing coach. This style helps the team both on the road and at home, but when they have the benefit of last change, their strategy becomes more effective.
When the playoffs roll around, the home record’s importance will magnify as every game counts.
During the interview, Gallant said that home-ice advantage doesn’t matter to him, but his team’s record says otherwise. The Golden Knights have always been strong at home and as long as they continue their dominance in Sin City, they will be poised to finish what they started.
