2. Vegas Golden Knights

Projected cap space: $3.3 million

The Vegas Golden Knights have only been around for a season and a half, but George McPhee has already shown that he is ready to make ridiculous trades before the deadline.

More from Puck Prose

Every player wants to play in Vegas, and since Panarin loves the big stage, Vegas is the place to be. This team is better than the one that went to the Cup Final last season and they have a better shot of going further than Columbus does.

The Golden Knights are middle of the pack when it comes to goals per game and having a scorer like Panarin will give them the extra boost necessary. Vegas has a 17.9% success rate on the power play and yet they have the 6th-most power-play opportunities. Having Panarin will boost the success rate while also increasing the number of goals this team scores.

In the playoffs, scoring depth and special teams are important and Panarin addresses both problems for McPhee. The Golden Knights have plenty of picks and prospects that Columbus would be interested in and they need more goal-scoring.  Panarin is just the guy that Vegas needs to finish what they started last season.
