The Ottawa Senators and Toronto Maple Leafs both start of their 2019-20 seasons when the latter hosts the former at 7:00 p.m. EST. Here’s how you can watch via live stream.
Hockey fans have survived a long summer. The NHL is finally back. On Wednesday, Oct. 2, fans get a schedule of exciting games. At 7:00 p.m. EST, the first puck is scheduled to drop when the Toronto Maple Leafs host the Ottawa Senators. The game will be held at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto.
This is a great game to kick off the 2019-20 season. It’s a rivalry game and it should be a fast, exciting game. Both the Leafs and the Senators enjoy playing at a fast pace. Toronto has a 53-53-3-11 overall record against Ottawa. That does not include the previous Senators franchise.

The Leafs will kick off their 2019-20 season with great expectations. Led by Auston Matthews, John Tavares, and Mitch Marner, Toronto is hoping to bring home their first Stanley Cup since 1967. They currently have the longest Stanley Cup drought, as they haven’t won one in 52 years.
Tyson Barrie and Alexander Kerfoot will both be making their Leafs debuts after the Leafs acquired them for Nazem Kadri and Calle Rosen. Jason Spezza will be making his as well.
Additionally, Rasmus Sandin will be making his NHL debut. Toronto will be naming a captain at some point during the pre-game festivities. All signs point to Tavares being the guy.
On the other side of the ice, the Senators had the worst record in the NHL last season. While they will likely have the worst record again, the Sens should be an entertaining team to watch. Led by Thomas Chabot, the Senators will hope to spoil the start of the Leafs season.
It will be interesting to see how guys like Nikita Zaitsev, Tyler Ennis, Connor Brown, and Ron Hainsey are treated in their return to Toronto. All four were members of the Maple Leafs last season. Additionally, Senators head coach D.J. Smith used to be an assistant coach for the Leafs.
