Led by Sergei Bobrovsky’s first shutout in a Panthers uniform, the Florida Panthers topped the Detroit Red Wings 4-0 for their second straight win.

Last night, the Florida Panthers feasted on some Detroit Red Wings. They fried them up, coated them in the loss Sauce and devoured them. That’s right, it’s another win for the Florida Panthers. Not only was it a win, but it was also the first shutout of the season courtesy of Sergei Bobrovsky.

The goal-scoring started quickly when Bret Connolly scored his fifth goal of the season to make the score 1-0 in the first period three minutes into the game. Panthers fans were feeling good as they were witnessing the team get off to such a quick start.

They scored again with three minutes remaining in the first period and it was scored by Aleksander Barkov. In addition, it was also on the Power Play which shows that the Cats are getting more in sync with each other when they’re on the man advantage. Another $1,600 went to patients at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, bringing his total amount donated so far to $3,200. Way to go Barkov for being so charitable.

The second period opened up with a goal by Jonathan Huberdeau. It was assisted by Anton Stralman giving him his 200th career assist, which is totally awesome that he did it with us and not his former team, the Tampa Bay Lightning. No more goals were scored in the second period.

Enter the third period and Huberdeau scored again with almost 9 minutes left in the game. Huberdeau tried to notch a third goal to get a hat trick but unfortunately, he couldn’t do it. But in the end, the horn sounded, the crowd erupted in cheer.

As the camera panned over to Bobrovsky, we saw a goalie who had a smile on his face for getting his first shutout with our team but also a look of calm and serenity. The three stars of the game were Huberdeau, Bobrovsky, and Barkov.

Cheers to Bobrovsky for a big win against a rival divisional team and in front of a stellar crowd. The next opponent is the Washington Capitals on Thursday night. Until next game, enjoy the rest of the evening and Let’s go Cats!
