The Florida Panthers now having a losing streak, as they lost to the Buffalo Sabres 5-2.
On Sunday, the Florida Panthers faced the Buffalo Sabres after losing to the Carolina Hurricanes the night before. Typically, after a loss, they come back the following game with a sense of urgency and a desire to win. However, the urgency last night was lacking and it showed. I’m not sure if it was jet lag or if the players were just tired, but something was not right with this team tonight.
Now, before I get to the recap of the game last night, I’m going to have a little angry fan rant because it needs to be done. Let me preface this rant by saying this. Ask anyone who knows me well enough and they’ll tell you that I’m a true diehard fan of the team so this rant I’m about to give is because I’m a true fan and I’m passionate.

My loyalty is always to this team and it always will be. I’m in no way implying that Panthers fans need to hit the panic button. It’s still very early in the season. There is still got lots of time left and the season is still young. But we’ve got some things to fix and they need to be figured out soon.
I’m frustrated because I know what this team is capable of. The Panthers already accomplished so much and I know they can accomplish so much more. I’m frustrated when the defense leaves the goaltender out to dry and doesn’t protect the net when needed. Most of all, I’m frustrated when there’s no sense of urgency when there needs to be.
Despite all this, I will not stop supporting my team and I will not stop watching them. They’re human. They make mistakes and they will be my team forever and always. Now, let’s get to the recap of the game.
In the first period, Jeff Skinner, assisted by Jack Eichel and Conor Sheary, made the score 1-0 for the Sabres at the 16:24 mark. At the 18:23 mark, Girgensons, assisted by Montour and Dahlin, made the score 2-0 for the Sabres.
In the second period, at the 3:42 mark, Eichel, assisted by Dahlin and Bogosian, made the score 3-0 for the Sabres. At the 9:29 mark, Noel Acciari made the score 3-1, putting the Panthers on the board finally.
At the 14:41 mark of the second period, Oloffson, assisted by Reinhart and Eichel, made the score 4-1 in favor of the Sabres. In the third period, Brett Connolly, assisted by Aaron Ekblad and Vincent Trocheck on the power play, made the score 4-2. At the 13:25 mark, Girgensons, assisted by Vesey, officially put the game away for the Sabres to make the score 5-2 for the Sabres.
The Panthers have until Wednesday evening to shake off this funk and get back to their winning ways when they face the Washington Capitals. I’m really hoping they can figure it out and get revenge. That’s all I’ve got for now. Until next time, go Cats!!!
