The Florida Panthers got a huge win over the Ottawa Senators in a game that featured a hat trick from Noel Acciari.

On a night where the Miami Dolphins offensive line showed up to watch the game, records were broken, a hat trick was scored, I got on the Jumbotron twice and the Florida Panthers scored the equivalent of an NFL touchdown without the extra point by scoring a total of six goals as they went on to beat the Ottawa Senators 6-1. Let’s get straight to the recap of last night’s win!

The night began with the first record belonging to Jonathan Huberdeau. Last night was his 500th NHL career game and boy oh boy would he make it a special night for himself. The only goal of the first period was scored by Noel Acciari, assisted by Huberdeau and Keith Yandle to make the score 1-0 Panthers.

In the second period is where the excitement kicked into high gear and the scoring onslaught took place. Acciari scored the first goal of the second period, which was assisted by Huberdeau to make the score 2-0 Panthers. Shortly after that, Artem Anisimov, assisted by Tyler Ennis and Logan Brown would make it 2-1 for the Senators.

The young captain Aleksander Barkov would score next on the power play, assisted by Huberdeau to make the score 3-1 for the Panthers and bring his total donation amount for the Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital to $17,600. With that goal, Barkov also moved into fourth place in franchise history for goals scored with a total of 146 being scored thus far by him in his young career.

Now, the next goal was scored by Acciari, assisted by Mackenzie Weegar and Aaron Ekblad to make the score 4-1. The hats began to rain on the ice as Acciari scored his first career NHL hat trick. The crowd went crazy because he was the hot hand all night, so to see him get the hat trick was well deserved.

Next Mike Matheson scored, assisted by Huberdeau to make the score 5-1. The final goal of the game was scored towards the very end of the second period by Dominic Toninato and assisted by Ekblad. Huberdeau would end his night with a remarkable four-point game and now officially has 400 NHL career points, so way to go Huberdeau!

This was the type of comeback game the Panthers needed. They played with grit. They played with determination. They played with a will to win. Now, to end this article, I figured since some of the Miami Dolphins players showed up last night, I’d recreate their fight song to fit the Panthers, so here it goes.

“Florida has the Panthers, the greatest hockey team. They take the puck and score the goals like no one’s ever seen. They’re on the ice, they’re skating fast, they’re always in control. And when you say the Panthers, you’re talking Stanley Cup, because they’re the Florida Panthers, Florida Panthers, Florida Panthers #1. Yes they’re the Florida Panthers, Florida Panthers, Florida Panthers #1!!!!”

That’s all I got for now. The Panthers have a break until Friday when they end their home stand at the BB&T Center as they face the Dallas Stars. Thank you as always for reading and as I always say: Let’s Go Cats!
