The Chicago Blackhawks had a dynasty during the 2010s
Although the Chicago Blackhawks have had quite a disappointing 2019 season, the 2010s are still arguably the best decade the Blackhawks have ever had.
The 2010s were the best decade for Chicago Blackhawks hockey without question. To start the 2010s, Patrick Kane lifted the Blackhawks to their first Stanley cup since 1961 as he scored the game-winning goal in overtime against the Philadelphia Flyers in game 6 of the 2010 Stanley Cup Final.
They finished the 2010 season at 52-22-8 (112 points) so they definitely deserved that Stanley Cup. I don’t think any team will ever experience the type of dominance the Blackhawks had ever again honestly.
Yes, Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins went on to win back to back Stanley Cups in 2016 and 2017 but the Hawks’ were one goal away from winning three straight cups, no other team will ever come close to doing that.

After winning the Cup in 2010, the Blackhawks would add another two Stanley Cups in 2013 when they went on to beat the Boston Bruins in six games and then went on to beat the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2015 at home in six games. Nothing beats winning the Cup in front of your home crowd.
The Blackhawks were lucky enough to have a couple of future Hall of Famers on their roster during the 2010s. Like Duncan Keith, Marian Hossa, Patrick Sharp, Patrick Kane, Jonathan Toews, and so many others who could be considered Hall of Famers. Those players were coached by a legend and a future Hall of Famer, Joel Quenneville.
Us Blackhawks’ fans get to look back at this decade and remember how special it was to watch this team every game night and see them win three Stanley Cups in six years. You could argue that this team was a Dynasty for quite some time.
Yes, this decade for the Blackhawks has had its moments. Like when general manager Stan Bowman made some bad trades, and when he fired Quenneville and replaced him with Jeremy Colliton.
Yes, the Chicago Blackhawks are the best team during the 2010s. Am I being biased? Yes, but I don’t care.
