Which NHL team will rule the 2020s? It could be the Colorado Avalanche.

The 2020s still have a long way to go, but as of right now, which NHL team is set up to succeed the most? I know this is a far fetch question, to try and find this decades dynasty when it has only been around for a few days now. The Colorado Avalanche are one team that stands out to me.

I believe that they could win a few cups this decade. Not only are they really good already, but they have one of the best farm systems in the NHL. The Avalanche have so many talented prospects ready to make the jump to the NHL someday.

Colorado might have stolen a great player in the draft last spring when they acquired Bowen Byram with the fourth overall pick. Chicago failed to take the highly skilled prospect who was projected to go third overall, electing to draft Kirby Dach instead.

The Avalanche boast some of the best prospects and young players in the league when you combat that with an already good team, there is no question they can win multiple Stanley Cups this decade.

Imagine how their blue line is going to look when the Avalanche have stars like Cale Makar and Byram tearing things up together. Then add in additional players like Samuel Girard and Ian Cole, and this team can be pretty good. Not only will their defense be good but their offense will also include Mikko Rantanen and Nathan MacKinnon who I can not believe is still only 24.

The Avalanche are going to have to be smart with the Salary Cap, but if they can figure out how to sign the right players and keep everyone motivated there is no doubt in my mind that this Avalanche team will succeed in the 2020s.

There are a lot of possible teams that will succeed in this decade. Teams like Carolina, Montreal, Vancouver, Boston, Arizona, Vegas and so many others are going to be good, but my pick to have the dynasty this decade is the Colorado Avalanche.
