One of the most mentioned players in the latest NHL trade rumors is Los Angeles Kings forward Tyler Toffoli. These five teams should all be interested in trading for him.

The NHL trade deadline is about a month away. With most teams either on their All-Star break or about to begin it, trade discussions should start heating up. One of the most sought after forwards, according to the latest NHL trade rumors, is Los Angeles Kings forward Tyler Toffoli.

Toffoli is having a fairly quiet, but good, season thus far with 12 goals 27 points in 43 games. Considering the Kings are among the worst scoring teams in the NHL, those numbers are pretty darn good.

According to The Athletic, Toffoli’s price is also not as expensive as other forwards like Jean-Gabriel Pageau and Chris KreiderIn their “NHL Trade Big Board” article, Craig Custance notes the asking price is likely going to be a second-round pick and a prospect. That’s far more appealing than the first-round pick it will take to get the discussion started with Pageau and Kreider.

Toffoli can add scoring depth to just about any contender. And his cap hit isn’t too shabby either at just $4.6 million. Toffoli is battle-tested in the playoffs and he’s going to have a lot of teams interested in him. However, he makes the most sense for these five teams.

Edmonton Oilers

If Toffoli doesn’t cost them a first-round pick, the Edmonton Oilers are a team that would love to have him. They seem pretty adamant about not giving up a first-round pick or one of their top prospects. It doesn’t seem like Toffoli will cost them either of the two.

The Oilers are looking to add a wing or two, preferably one who could play in the top six. Toffoli fits the bill perfectly. On a recent episode of Oilers Now, Sportsnet NHL insider Elliotte Friedman noted Toffoli could be a great fit in Edmonton. The Oilers need players with postseason experience and Toffoli wouldn’t cost them that much.
