Anaheim Ducks goaltender Ryan Miller made the biggest trade of the year, as he traded a warmup puck to a fan in exchange for a box of Thin Mints.

It’s almost the NHL trade deadline, so big trades should be coming soon. However, none of them will be as great of a steal as the heist Anaheim Ducks goalie Ryan Miller managed to pull off. Not even Oceans 11 could compare to it.

During warmups, a fan really wanted a warmup puck and got desperate. They made a sign informing the players they would trade a box of Thin Mints for a puck. No offense to the fan, but that is a really bad trade for the fan, by the way. The fan should have at least held out for an autographed puck.

Miller must be a fan of Girl Scout cookies (and who can blame him?) because he was the one who decided to oblige.

However, Miller makes a huge mistake. He hands it off to a team staff member. Miller shouldn’t be surprised if his precious box of Thin Mints is gone by the time he checks on it. Nobody can resist the pure, undeniably perfect taste of Thin Mints. Which, by the way, are the best Girl Scout cookie.

Miller’s having a solid season for the Ducks. The 39-year-old veteran of over 700 regular season games (plus 57 Stanley Cup Playoff games) has a .910% save percentage in 15 appearances this season with a 7-5-3 record entering Thursday, Feb. 13.

Quietly, he’s put together a pretty great career. His 385 career regular season wins entering Thursday are the most of any American-born goaltender. Miller also has a Vezina Trophy on his resume, winning the award for the 2009-10 season. He has a good Hockey Hall of Fame case if you consider that John Vanbiesbrouck (who had a very similar career) is in the Hall of Fame.

Kudos to Miller for making the biggest trade we’ll see this year. And kudos to the fan for supplying Miller with joy in the form of a box of Thin Mints.
