Vegas Golden Knights host their first annual team awards night

Who emerged from the Vegas Golden Knights team award night as the biggest winners?

An event usually held after the last game of the season, the Vegas Golden Knights held an event to hand three awards to players who were pivotal this season.

First, the seventh man award who is awarded to the player who showed the most intangibles. The players were nominated by the broadcasting team and then once the four nominees were named, the fans got to vote for the winner.

That award went to newcomer Chandler Stephenson. After being acquired from the Washington Capitals in November, Stephenson had 22 points in 41 games.

He beat out fellow nominees Brayden McNabb, Nick Holden, and Will Carrier. The next award was the Golden Bar award, which is awarded to the player that had won the most first star award after every game.

That award went to Reilly Smith. Smith finished the regular season with 27 goals and was a key factor when it came to the offense for the Golden Knights.

The final award of the night is the Vegas Strong Service award. This award goes to the player or players who contributed as much off the ice as they did on the ice.

That award went was actually split, as it went to Paul Stasny and Max Pacioretty.  Both players formed the Paul and Patches program, which helps introduce hockey to young kids while also giving out tickets to kids for games at the Fortress.

Hockey continues to grow in the state of Nevada and having this great organization will only help. We already have 1 player drafted In the NHL (Jason Zucker)  and we want to see more for years to come. Vegas continues to train during phase 2 as they await the official opening of training camp which should start July 10 or around that week.
