On Monday, the Winnipeg Jets will try to even their Stanley Cup Playoffs play-in series with the Calgary Flames.
Saturday’s Game 1 saw the Calgary Flames make a huge statement and answer a lot of questions by beating the Winnipeg Jets soundly 4-1. On Monday, Winnipeg will try to even up their Stanley Cup Playoffs play-in round series at 2:30 p.m. EST.
Since Saturday’s game was filled with emotion and passion, Monday’s game should provide the same. Especially since Winnipeg seems to be pretty pissed off at Calgary for various reasons. Expect a hard-fought match in Game 2 as the Jets try to get back into the short five-game series.

INJURIES
CALGARY FLAMES
The Flames do not have any major injuries to speak of. Defenseman Juuso Valimaki is still recovering from a torn knee ligament, which occurred last summer. Travis Hamonic will not be playing, but that’s because he decided to opt-out of the postseason.
WINNIPEG JETS
Bryan Little and Mark Letestu will not be playing, as they’re both out for the postseason. Both Patrik Laine and Mark Scheifele were injured in Game 1. They are each listed as day-to-day, though it doesn’t sound like the Jets will have either for Game 2.
PREVIEW
CALGARY FLAMES
The Flames looked very dominant in Game 1. Johnny Gaudreau got a huge monkey off his back by scoring a nice goal. Their first line looked quite good, as they generated several chances off the rush. Three of their four goals came on special teams, but the Flames still looked quite good at even strength.
It is expected that Cam Talbot will once again be in goal for Calgary, just like he was in Game 1. However, head coach Geoff Ward has yet to confirm who the starting goaltender will be.
WINNIPEG JETS
The Jets are getting close to desperation mode. They’ve got to come out of Game 2 with a win because falling down 2-0 in a five-game series is certainly not something they want. Connor Hellebuyck will be getting the start in net. He’ll have to be at his best to give his team a chance to steal a win in Game 2.

PREDICTION
Winnipeg should make a strong early push, but I think Calgary’s going to come out on top. The Jets had no answer for the Flames on Saturday. If Calgary’s top line looks as good as it did, the Jets don’t have a chance.
