The Vegas Golden Knights will be looking for their first round-robin win tonight as they face a skilled team in the Dallas Stars.
The Stanley Cup Playoffs begin today for the Vegas Golden Knights as they begin round-robin play against the Dallas Stars. The Knights are coming off a 4-1 win over the Arizona Coyotes in their one and only exhibition game. The Dallas Stars were shutout 2-0 by the Nashville Predators in their exhibition game and will be looking to bounce back.
Max Pacioretty is still out and won’t be in the line up on Monday while head coach Pete DeBoer has confirmed Robin Lehner will get the start in net. The Dallas Stars are quite the solid team with superstars like Tyler Seguin and Jamie Benn not to mention big Ben Bishop in net. The Stars, unfortunately, lost 6 straight before the NHL season went on pause.

Alex Radulov was injured but is now fit to play after taking the last 4 months to recover from his injury. The Golden Knights and the Stars were supposed to play 3 times this season but only managed to play twice with the 3rd being canceled due to the pause. Both teams managed to get a win and the season series finished 1-1.
The Dallas Stars previous postseason performance was last summer when they made the 2nd round of the playoffs before losing to the eventual Stanley Cup champions the St.Louis Blues while the Vegas Golden Knights fell to the San Jose Sharks in 7 games. The Knights will be looking to avenge that loss as they were up 3-1 in the series and 4-0 in game 7 before everything went south.
Both teams made coaching changes during the season with Rick Bowness replacing Jim Montgomery in Dallas while Pete Deboer formally of the San Jose Sharks replaced Gerard Gallant. The keys to victory for Vegas are simple play that speed game, use that high power offense, and shut it down defensively.
This game can be seen on Sportsnet One in Canada, NHL Network, NHL.TV, ATTSN-RM, FS-SW starting at 6:30 pm eastern which is 3:30 pm pacific in the Las Vegas area.
