Can the Arizona Coyotes pull off another upset by beating the Colorado Avalanche in the Stanley Cup Playoffs?
It’s the most wonderful time of the year, as the Stanley Cup Playoffs have finally arrived. In round 1, the Colorado Avalanche will face the Arizona Coyotes. Game 1 of their series will take on place on Wednesday, August 12, starting at 5:30 p.m. EST.
Since they have the first game of the day, they won’t have to worry about being delayed. Last night, the Boston Bruins and Carolina Hurricanes had to have their primetime match postponed thanks to a five-overtime affair from the Tampa Bay Lightning and Columbus Blue Jackets.
The Avalanche earned the second overall seed after beating both the St. Louis Blues and Dallas Stars during the Western Conference round-robin tournament. That’s the same seed they had going into the Edmonton bubble.
Meanwhile, the Coyotes upset the Nashville Predators in the play-in round. Darcy Kuemper was outstanding for the Yotes, as he currently has the fourth-highest save percentage in the postseason.
