The Golden Knights face the Chicago Blackhawks in an afternoon tilt with a great chance to go up 2-0 in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

The Vegas Golden Knights came out firing on all cylinders in Game 1 and now we will have to see if they can take a stranglehold in their Stanley Cup Playoffs series. As predicted Vegas firepower was a bit much for the Chicago Blackhawks to handle and we are waiting to see if Chicago can respond.

Reilly Smith had a great start to the playoffs in game one finishing with 2 goals and 1 assist in game one. Shea Theodore also helped the Knights secure a win in game one while Will Carrier added to the offense as well.

Robin Lehner was stellar in net making 19 saves on 20 shots and we again will have to see if Pete Deboer keeps him as the starter or continues to rotate. Marc Andre Fleury finds himself in a similar situation, the last 2 Stanley Cup wins in Pittsburgh he was on the bench and when Matt Murray faltered he came in relief.

The Knights did a good job of spreading the offense as seven different players were able to record a point in game one. Max Pacioretty played his first game in the bubble and even if he didn’t get on the scoresheet we saw he was slowly starting to get his game back.

We don’t have any lineup news yet but check back closer to puck drop to confirm starting goaltenders and if Deboer will change his lines or not. The game plan for Vegas seems to be shutting down Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane and they did a very good job of that in game one. If they continue to do so the Blackhawks will be in serious trouble very fast and this series could be a quick one.

The 3rd period seems to be where the Knights really find their offense as they have outscored their opponents 10-1 since Round Robin play began. Vegas keeps this up and their Stanley Cup run will go very far.
