The Colorado Avalanche will try to grab a 2-0 lead in their Stanley Cup Playoffs series against the Arizona Coyotes on Friday at 2:30 p.m. EST.
It’s the most wonderful time of the year for hockey fans. The Stanley Cup Playoffs have finally arrived. In Game 1 of their series, the Colorado Avalanche got the best of the Arizona Coyotes, beating them 3-0. Game 2 of their series will take on place on Friday, August 14, starting at 2:30 p.m. EST.
The Avalanche dominated for most of Game 1, but didn’t get on the board until the third period. That’s when they broke through, getting goals from Nazem Kadri, J.T. Compher, and Mikko Rantanen. Each of those three goals occurred within two minutes of each other. Philipp Grubauer stopped all of the 14 shots on goal he saw.
Meanwhile, the Coyotes will look to bounce back from a very poor showing in Game 1. Colorado outshot Arizona 40 to 14. That’s simply can’t happen again. Darcy Kuemper was terrific in net, but unfortunately, the skaters in front of him didn’t come close to matching his greatness.
