After winning the first two games of the series, the Colorado Avalanche look to grab a 3-0 series lead over the Arizona Coyotes on Saturday.
The Colorado Avalanche are showing why so many people have them as one of their Stanley Cup favorites. They’ve only lost one game in the bubble, and that was in overtime against the Vegas Golden Knights, who have lost zero games in the bubble. And so far, the Avalanche are looking strong against the Arizona Coyotes, winning the first two games of the series.
On Saturday, starting at 3:00 p.m. EST, the Avalanche will try to grab a 3-0 series lead against the underdog Coyotes. Game 1 went quite well for Colorado, as the 3-0 score doesn’t reflect how much they dominated Arizona, who only mustered 14 shots on goal.
However, Game 2 showed us a different side of the Avalanche. They didn’t play their best game and they needed a late goal from Andre Burakovsky to win 3-2. Credit to the Coyotes for drastically improving from Game 1 to Game 2. It wasn’t a pretty win for the Avalanche, but in the postseason, you’ve got to be able to win some ugly games and Colorado proved they can do that.

INJURY REPORT
It doesn’t look like Nick Schmaltz will be dressing for the Coyotes. But it appears Antti Raanta will be the backup goalie in Game 3. The former has missed the entire postseason while the latter got injured during their play-in round series against the Nashville Predators.
As usual, it doesn’t look like Colin Wilson will play for the Avalanche. He’s been out for most of the season.
