Once again after failing to win the series in Game 4 the Vegas Golden Knights will have another crack at it.

The Vegas Golden Knights had a golden opportunity to sweep the Chicago Blackhawks in 4 games and move on to the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. However, the Blackhawks had other plans in mind, as Drake Caggiula and Matthew Highmore scored big goals while Alex Debrincat added an empty netter to keep Chicago alive in the series and force a game 5.

Corey Crawford was stellar in net, making 48 saves in the win and we witnessed a rare lack of offense from the Knights. It wasn’t a lack of trying for the Knights, as Crawford played the best game of his season so far.

More from Puck Prose

Shea Theodore scored the lone goal for Vegas and Robin Lehner made 22 saves as the Knights tasted defeat for the first time in the NHL bubble. Stats are on Vegas side as teams who are up 3-1 have advanced 90.6% of the time. 173 times the series has ended in 5 games so the Knights will be hoping those stats don’t lie.

Up to this point, the Vegas Golden Knights have outshot the Chicago Blackhawks 148-97 but couldn’t manage to get two goals by Crawford for the first time in these playoffs. We will find out most likely before puck drop if Tomas Nosek and Paul Stasny will draw back into the lineup. Both players missed the last 2 games due to undisclosed injuries.

We will also find out tomorrow if Pete Deboer goes back to Marc-Andre Fleury who we saw in Game 3 and looked pretty solid in net. He has the playoff experience Deboer could lean on and potentially have the series wrapped up.
