The Boston Bruins and Tampa Bay Lightning start their second round series on Sunday night at 8:00 p.m. EST.

Game 1 of the second round series between the Boston Bruins and Tampa Bay Lightning will take place on Sunday, Aug. 23, starting at 8:00 p.m. EST. This series is one that fans were expecting to take place in the Eastern Conference Final, but we’ll be seeing it a little earlier than expected.

The Bruins are coming off a series win over the Carolina Hurricanes. They beat them four games to one in their first round series. On the other side of the ice, the Lightning got past the Columbus Blue Jackets in the first round, beating them in five games.

This is a rematch of the 2018 second round series, which saw Tampa advance past Boston, only to lose in the Eastern Conference Final to the eventual Stanley Cup champion Washington Capitals.

Meanwhile, the Lightning are waiting for team captain Steven Stamkos to get healthy. His recovery has taken a bit longer than expected, as he was expected to be healthy by the start of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. However, Stamkos has yet to play.
