The Vegas Golden Knights and the Vancouver Canucks resume their series tonight at 9:45 p.m. EST with the Knights looking to take the lead in the series.
The Vegas Golden Knights and the Vancouver Canucks will restart their series tonight after a two-day hiatus. This player driven action was in response to the shooting of Jacob Blake, Black man, by a white police officer in Kenosha, WI.
The players spent the last two days talking about social injustice, racial inequality, and the fact that change needs to happen or it will never change. This was the first time in NHL history the league had paused due to a protest.
The players even refused to talk hockey to the media saying it wasn’t important right now. The Hockey Diversity Alliance wasn’t pleased on Thursday when the MLS, MLB, WNBA, and the NBA boycotted games to spark the beginning of the protest and the NHL went ahead with games.

Evander Kane said the NHL did a bad job getting late to the party but applauded them after they agreed to shut down for two days. There was a major conference call with over 100 players where they all agreed it had to be done.
In game two Vancouver beat Vegas 5-2 thanks to the sparked offense by Elias Pettersson, Tyler Toffoli, and Bo Horvat who scored two goals in the win. Max Pacioretty and Alex Tuch scored for the Knights.
