The New York Islanders look to close out the Philadelphia Flyers in Game 5 on Tuesday night.

Game 4 saw the New York Islanders grab a 3-1 series lead over the Philadelphia Flyers. Tuesday’s Game 5 will determine if the Flyers are going home or if they’ll live to fight another game. This game starts at 7:00 p.m. EST and will be held in Toronto.

The Flyers have their backs against the wall. However, it’s worth noting this team has done a lot of good things this season when their backs have been against the wall. They responded whenever the Montreal Canadiens beat them in the first round.

However, the Flyers haven’t been able to do that against the Islanders. Their only win of the series, Game 2, came in overtime. They’ve allowed at least three goals in each game of the series and are averaging under two goals per game, with seven goals scored in four games.

On the other side of the ice, the Islanders are averaging just over three goals per game. They’re coming off two straight wins over the Flyers on back-to-back days and now they have the opportunity to punch their ticket to the Eastern Conference Final for the first time in the 21st century. Should the Islanders advance, they’ll take on the Tampa Bay Lightning.

STARTING GOALTENDERS

Neither team has made anything official. However, the New York Islanders will be going with either Thomas Greiss, who was terrific in Game 4, or Semyon Varlamov, who has the other two wins in the series.

On the other side of the ice, the Philadelphia Flyers will most likely go back to Carter Hart after Brian Elliott got the start in Game 4.
