New York Islanders vs. Tampa Bay Lightning Game 2 live stream, odds TV schedule
The New York Islanders will try to bounce back against the Tampa Bay Lightning in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Final.
Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Final was a blowout, as the Tampa Bay Lightning put the New York Islanders to shame. The well-rested Bolts put up eight goals in Game 1 against an Islanders team that came into the series as one of the best defensive teams in the postseason. The Isles get a chance to tie up the series on Wednesday night, with the puck drop scheduled at 8:00 p.m. EST.
Tampa hadn’t played for a while, as they beat the Boston Bruins in five games in the second round. It appears they used that time to get healthy and get their energy back, as they were clearly the better team on Monday night. Brayden Point scored just 74 seconds into the game and Tampa didn’t stop.
For the first time all postseason, the Islanders truly looked mortal. Game 1 was their first loss in regulation since Game 4 against the Washington Capitals, and just their sixth loss overall. Expect a much better effort from the Islanders in Game 2.

- NYI: +150
- TBL: -170
- Over/under: 5.5 goals
Personally, I’d take the over.
STARTING GOALTENDERS
The Tampa Bay Lightning will be sticking with their star goaltender and reigning Vezina Trophy winner Andrei Vasilevskiy. He has been fabulous all postseason long and has lost just two games since the start of the round of 16.
On the other side of the ice, things are far more interesting. The New York Islanders initially went with Thomas Greiss in net in Game 1, but he was quickly chased. Semyon Varlamov didn’t fare much better. Greiss allowed three goals on nine shots while Varlamov allowed five goals on 25 shots. Head coach Barry Trotz has yet to announce who will start in net.
