The Vegas Golden Knights lost 3-2 to the Dallas Stars in sudden death and now trail the best of seven 2-1.

The Vegas Golden Knights and the Dallas Stars met once again in Game 3 in a crucial game for both teams. This game proved to be super tight, as the first 10 minutes of the game was back and forth action with both teams getting great chances at both ends. Unfortunately, both goalies were standing on their heads and the period ended with no goals.

Into the second period and less then four minutes into the period, Robin Lehner made a great save on Joel Kiviranta robbing him with the glove save on a breakaway. The breakaway was caused by an unfortunate turnover in the Dallas zone by the Knights.

It didn’t get any better for the Knights as Tomas Nosek left the game shortly after when he got hit and fell awkwardly on the ice. With 90 seconds left in the period, William Karlsson had a great chance when he stole the puck in the offensive zone and went in on Anton Khudobin but he made a great pad save.

Dallas finally scored the games first goal with 16 seconds left in the period when Jamie Oleksiak stole the puck and went in on a breakaway on Lehner who managed to make the pad save but unfortunately the puck would bounce off his pad and into the net.

The Dallas Stars took back to back penalties to start the third period and the Golden Knights had some time on a two-man advantage but Khudobin was shutting the door. A minute after the second penalty was called the Knights finally scored when once again Shea Theodore took a shot from the point that beat Khudobin top shelf to tie the game at one.

The Stars would respond a couple of minutes later when Jamie Benn was able to beat Lehner 5 hole to regain the lead 2-1. Vegas once again was down but it didn’t deter them from attacking the net and it paid off as Alex Tuch would take a shot that would bounce off Mark Stone and into the back of the net to tie the game at two.

Dallas immediately challenged the goal for goalie interference due to the fact Stone was in the crease when the puck hit him but upon further review, the goal was deemed good. The Stars were penalized again for losing the challenge.

Vegas once again pushed hard on the powerplay but couldn’t get the puck past Khudobin, the period ended 2-2 and we went into sudden-death overtime.

The extra frame didn’t last long as 30 seconds into overtime Alexander Radulov would go on a 2 on 1 and beat Lehner to give the Stars the win and a 2-1 lead in the series. This is the first time in these playoffs that the Golden Knights are officially trailing in a series and will have a chance to tie the series again on Saturday night.
