The Islanders – like so many other franchises – suffered from some terrible designs in the 1990’s. But, at this point, that’s pretty much a forgone conclusion. On the plus side, their current uniforms are really, really nice.

The Best: 2020-21 Reverse Retro

This is the perfect amount of orange. The white and navy obviously looks great, but those orange bits really put it over the top. It’s just used in the best way, and the entire palette has been muted a bit.

What even is that logo? What, was the Gorton’s fish stick mascot taken? And why are there wavy lines? It was like they had a design mocked up, then someone spilled coffee on the paper. As they wiped the coffee from the page the ink streaked and they all looked around and thought “THIS IS BETTER!” Ugh.
