The NHL trade deadline is almost 2 months away and there can be a lot of teams that are buyers or sellers. Time is quickly approaching for teams to get their rosters right for a playoff push or trade pieces for next season.

Below are 10 teams who are going to be buyers and/or sellers this deadline. Let us take a look at some teams who could make some noise and be quite active this season.

In order for the Edmonton Oilers to be a serious playoff contender, they need to be buyers. Picking up some bottom 6 scoring, offensive defensemen, and. most importantly, an answer to the goaltending situation.

The Anaheim Ducks are in a good position and do not need to add much. Possibly a depth forward and a depth defenseman.

The Detroit Red Wings could be buyers or sellers this deadline. If selling defenseman Danny Dekeyser and forward Vlad Namestnikov could be available but, if they are buyers, could use bottom 6  scoring depth and help on defense.

The Pittsburgh Penguins are next and always seem to make a playoff push. They could use bottom 6 scoring.

One team that could be selling is the New York Islanders. As of right now, they are out of it and, aside from winger Matt Barzal, anyone could be had for the right price.

The Los Angeles Kings are on the market for a left-handed defenseman.

The Vegas Golden Knights need to make a small move for a depth forward.

The Toronto Maple Leafs are set at forward so if they make a move it would be for a grinding defenseman.

One team that has had playoff success is the Boston Bruins. They could increase their chances by acquiring a depth forward and a middle pairing defenseman.

Lastly, the St. Louis Blues are close to being both in and out. Acquiring a middle 6 forward could be on their wishlist.
