The Pittsburgh Penguins had a pretty remarkable game on Sunday in Pittsburgh beating the Detroit Red Wings 11-2 in one of the biggest stompings of the season thus far.

The Pittsburgh Penguins won 11-2, let’s go over all the goal scorers on the night.

Kasperi Kapanen: 1 – 0

Teddy Blueger: 2 – 0

Evgeni Malkin: 3 – 0

Jeff Carter: 4 – 0

Bryan Rust: 5 – 0

Evgeni Malkin: 6 – 0

Sidney Crosby: 7 – 2

Danton Heinen: 8 – 2

Evgeni Malkin: 9 – 2

Brian Boyle: 10 – 2

Rickard Rakell: 11 – 2

This was one of those nights where you just want to stay on the ice and keep playing. The Penguins had one of the biggest wins in the salary cap era. You can check out all the goals and more in the game recap below.

Every single forward on the Penguins roster had at least a point, and a lot of them had two or three-point nights. In fact, only three players on the Penguins roster failed to register a point on Sunday, Brian Dumoulin, Marcus Pettersson, and the goalie Tristan Jarry.

Overall a great day to be a Penguins fan that is for sure. It wasn’t like the Penguins drastically outshot the Red Wings either, both teams put up 35 shots on the night, more went in for the Penguins.

Also a special shout out to Evgeni Malkin who had a hat trick. Both of Malkin’s five-on-five goals were assisted by Bryan Rust. Putting them together on the same line definitely seems to be working out for the Penguins.

So what comes next?

The Penguins have had a few bad years in the postseason, but this season they look like a competitive team once again that could compete for the Stanley Cup. Their roster is all in on a championship and they have been playing some great hockey as of late. They are second in the Metropolitan Division, and not by much.

The Penguins are 6-3-1 in their last ten games and will host the New York Rangers on Tuesday in a game that could be a preview of a first-round matchup. Hopefully for the Penguins they can keep the offense coming!
