The Vegas Golden Knights and Dallas Stars are two of the remaining three teams battling it out for the final two wild card spots in play within the Western Conference. As things sit right now Nashville has 94 points with 3 games left, Dallas had 93 points with three games left, and Vegas has 90 points with three games left.

The stakes are high tonight between the Golden Knights and the Stars. If Dallas wins they bump up to 95 points all but ending the Golden Knights’ playoff hopes. Whereas if Vegas wins, they pull two just one point behind Dallas for the final wildcard spot.

Winning tonight for Vegas doesn’t secure them a playoff spot, but it does buy them a little bit more time. There are a few good matchups left to watch this season in the next week, but no games are going to be as exciting as the showdown tonight in Dallas.

Going into the game it is important to note that Robin Lehner won’t be in net for Vegas. Lehner will miss the remainder of the season as he is going to shoulder undergo surgery. Vegas has won their previous two matchups against the Stars, but this game is no ordinary game.

Even though San Jose’s season was over when they faced off against the Golden Knights on Sunday, they rose to the occasion to be a part of trying to end the playoff hopes of Vegas. They scored a great goal late in the game and eventually won in a shootout.

The game in itself was exciting to watch towards the end, and tonight is going to be action-packed all night long. Watching a playoff-level game tonight sure is going to be exciting.

After tonight the season is not over. Dallas still has two more games against the Anaheim Ducks and the Arizona Coyotes. Vegas has two more games against the Chicago Blackhawks and St. Louis Blues. While Nashville has a game against Calgary tonight and two more against the Avalanche and Coyotes.

Puck drop is at 7:30 central tonight between the Stars and Golden Knights. Which team do you want to see in the postseason?
