The Edmonton Oilers are one of the best teams in the NHL regarding fantasy sports. Their top players put up many points, and usually, the team does not lose games due to a lack of scoring goals.
During the 2021-22 NHL season the Edmonton Oilers scored 290 goals, the seventh best goal total in the league. On average, they scored 3.48 goals per game and had an above-average power play capitalizing on 25.96% of their chances on the man advantage.
In 2021-22, their team was led by Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl who both have over 100 points. McDavid had 123 and Draisaitl had 110. Outside of that, they had five other players who put up 40 or more points in Tyson Barrie, Kailer Yamamoto, Evan Bouchard, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Zach Hyman. 1. Connor McDavid
First up has to be Connor McDavid. This is not a sleeper pick for a fantasy team as McDavid could go number one overall in any draft. He put up the most points in the NHL last season and there is a good chance he will do it again this upcoming year.
Every season has seen McDavid find a way to elevate his game further. in 2020-21 he put up 105 points in 56 games, and he picked up right where he left off adding 123 points in 80 games this past year. He is more than a point-per-game player and is someone who is guaranteed to give you a handful of points every night.

2. Evander Kane
Evander Kane is about to start his first full season with the Edmonton Oilers after being signed midway through the 2021-22 season. In 2022 there is no doubt he is someone a fantasy team is going to want to draft early to take a chance on.
Kane played in just 43 games with the Oilers last season. That includes jumping back into the game after not playing and being at a disadvantage for not having as much time to get ready to play. Kane still managed to put up 39 points in 43 games giving him the eighth-best point total on the Oilers.
Kane is going to be on a line with Connor McDavid again this upcoming season, and this time around he will get a full season to play and put up a lot of points. Kane might be a sneaky good addition for someone in the second or third round of their fantasy draft as he could put up north of 70 points.
3. Tyson Barrie
The next player to keep an eye on is defensemen Tyson Barrie. Barrie put up 41 points in 73 games this past season. He put up 21 points on the power play and is someone who can benefit from playing within the Oilers’ offensive system.
Tyson Barrie might be one of the best picks around if you are looking for a defenseman to put into your lineup. In 2020-21 during the shortened season he put up 48 points in 56 games. Now in 2022-23 if he can get back to those numbers, he could be one of the best additions to a fantasy team.
4. Leon Draisaitl
Draisaitl is not a sleeper pick for a fantasy team by any means. He scored 110 points this past season including 55 goals in 80 games. He is great on the power play and at even strength and is someone who can dominate his own line or play alongside McDavid to make one of the best lines in hockey.
Draisaitl is someone who could get overlooked thanks to guys like Matthews, MacKinnon, and McDavid but you can bet whoever lands this player is going to be doing well in their league.
5. Evan Bouchard
Evan Bouchard is still a young defenseman in the NHL. He is someone I bet few players went out of their way to target in the 2021-22 fantasy season. This year might see him get more attention though.
Bouchard plays on one of the best offensive teams in the league with McDavid and Draisaitl. While scoring goals has been an issue in the past during the playoffs, the regular season has not seen issues for this team to score.
Bouchard is a defenseman who could take an even bigger step forward in 2022-23. He put up 43 points this past season including 12 goals and there is a strong chance his numbers will be even better. If you need a defenseman in your fantasy league, Bouchard definitely is not a bad pick.
