Tage Thompson is a talented hockey player at the age of 25, coming off a fresh contract extension signing that will begin in the 2023-24 season worth USD 50 million, with an annual average salary of USD 7.14 million per year for seven years.

The native of Glendale, Arizona was acquired by the Buffalo Sabres in the summer of 2018, with two promising veteran players, including a first and second-round pick for star forward Ryan O’Reilly by the St. Louis Blues.

Tage Thompson has been on a tear of late as he has recorded 30 goals and 25 assists in the past 36 games played and has tallied 55 points this season thus far. In the trade between the St. Louis Blues and Buffalo Sabres, Thompson was the steal of the exchange.

Tage Thompson has had success with the Buffalo Sabres.

At the time of the trade, it was thought that St. Louis had the better trade value, because of Tage’s slow start, especially when the team had won the Stanley Cup in 2019.

After his breakout performance last year that had entitled him to a massive contract extension this year, Thompson has been the talk of the league all season long with the help of his teammates.

Together, they have helped him become a star centerman with the Buffalo Sabres in the NHL. He is recording at least a point per game during this run, with a few exceptions to that stat.

Things haven’t always been easy for Tage. His wife inspired him to be a role model player and keep true to his game as she battled an illness a few years ago, and now his game is thriving.

Tage had moved around quite a bit in his junior years in hockey, learning various techniques from young players around North America, the USA in particular.

Along with the accolades, Tage must be grateful that he can stay in one particular location, that being the great City of Buffalo, as compared to “Living out of a suitcase” after traveling most of his young career.
