The Seattle Kraken and Colorado Avalanche will go at it again tonight in Game 2 of their first-round matchup. Seattle won Game one of the series 3-1 Tuesday night, in pretty convincing fashion. This will be a big game for the Avs, as you never want to drop both games at home to open a series.

The keys for game two between the Seattle Kraken and Vegas Golden Knights.

1. The Avalanche have to get production from guys not named Rantanen, MacKinnon, and Makar.

I wrote about this briefly in the review from Game one, but it’s absolutely the number one key for Colorado tonight. The Avs players that weren’t name those three names above were completely invisible in Game one and attributed a big reason as to why they lost.

This is not to take away Seattle’s perfect road game performance, but I think we can all agree that even if Seattle is at the top of their game defensively, the Avs have way more star power than the Kraken on paper. If the Avs get anything from their secondary players, they will be very hard to beat.

2. The Kraken need to change absolutely nothing from their Game one performance.

It might seem like a no brainer to put this as a key, but it’s true. Seattle played as close to perfect of a hockey game on the road as a team could. So, for them, change absolutely nothing.

It would be nice to get Matty Beniers going in this game however, because he’s one of the players that has the most upside on the team. It’s important to get these young players going in the playoffs, because they could unlock their full potential.

3. The Avalanche ran into some bad luck on Tuesday night.

There were multiple times on Tuesday night where if a shot was aimed a little more this way or a bounce went a different direction the game may have been different. Thankfully for them, it was only game one.
